[Q] No SIM found? After Odin One-Click

After a failed attempt to get the FightSpit battery mod w/ evo black bar, my phone was just a black screen after the two opening boot animations.

I finally got odin to work. It allowed me to boot my phone, but when i did, the unlock screen said

"no SIM inserted. Please insert and reboot. You may still emergency call."

I did, however, have my SIM card inserted. Obviously, after i unlocked the lock screen, the default home screen and other side screens were there, with the search at the top, contacts, messaging, camera, and market at the bottom, widgets to the left, etc. Obviously none of my apps were present.

Just wondering why it won't recognize my SIM card and hopefully how to solve it. Thanks in advance. You guys are great.

I don't know anything about odin, or android development in general, but my logic is thinking that if odin restored my phone to 2.1 or 2.2, my sd card had unofficial 2.2 from designgears, so maybe it's not recognizing it since it is not the same OS. Am I even close?

Sorry. Not even close.

If you bothered to read the Odin thread you would see this. Please note what I have bolded in the quote:
Method 3: (KEY COMBO)

1. Remove the battery, sim card, sdcard if you have one
2. Insert the battery
3. Hold both Volume buttons (from i9000 just down, don't touch the power button)
4. Plug in the USB cable and continue holding both Volume buttons
Hopefully your SIM card isn't really ruined. If it is, then it's going to cost you $25 at AT&T to replace it.

Have you checked to make sure you put it back in the right way? - I only ask because I put mine in the wrong direction one time and it took me 15 min to figure out what I did.
You, my good man, are a genius

Any tips on where to go now? Is my phone still rooted? Do i need to root? Am i still running unofficial 2.2?

there are two different odin one clicks - one that is jf6 eclair 2.1 and one that is ji6 froyo 2.2 - which ever one you flashed is the one you have.

You will not be rooted with either - you will have to know which firmware you have to find what rooting method you need - there are multiple ways to root either, but no one that works the same for both.

as for where to go from there, I say check out the different baked roms that are available in the dev section - I like dg's cog.
