Hi. If I were to buy a Nook HD within the next few weeks would it have the 2.0.6 firmware? If so the instructions on this forum work with that firmware correct? I just wanted to know does the CMS have to run off the external card or can it be installed right to the device. If there are no real cons against running it from the card i will just do it that way. What are the pros and cons of running it from the card or installing it directly to the tablet if possible? I have unlocked a few cellphones and modded my WII and PS3 but have never done a tablet before. Thanks.

OK So I guess there isnt a way yet to install the mod to the internal storage. I will probably just buy one of those cards with the cm10 already on it for my nook hd. Does it still run smoothly from the card?

Don't buy a ready made card! Make one yourself and make a donation to the devloper instead.
The people selling the cards are making profit from other people's hard work.

So would this be the one to use? and it will work with the newest nook HD software version?

YES! All work normal. CM10 and Hybrid (decision is your). Even CM10.1 work normal, except thing which you find on CM10.1 main post (i have 12 items running on cm10.1 daily).

Just buy clean Sandisk or other 16GB class 4 microsd, read carefully your decided version (CM10 on sd or Hybrid) thread, make all things step by step leisurely and you will be happy with your flawless Nook.

But please dont support these bastards which ones try make money on others hard work. Buy better some beer with donation to actual devs.

Im not even sure what the hybrid is or how to install it even after reading it. I will probably just try the Cm10.1 and make a donation. Can you use a 32GB card and you can save date like movies etc to the unused space on the card after installing the CM10.1 on the card correct?

Yes, the space not used by the system files becomes available to you for media space.

And the Hybrid means that part of the system files are put on the SD and part on internal memory. This is done to make it run smoother and to be able to easily boot back and forth between stock and CM. It runs the same CM10 or CM10.1 ROMs.

Sent from my Nook HD+ running CM10 on SD

For you i recommend certainly CM10 or Hybrid (based on CM10). These are better support today and development active. CM10.1 for future ;)

Actually I was tempted in buying one... lazyness and little time for "playing" with gadgets (I was involved in rom modding couple of years ago, win6.5 era, but quite new to the Android world), I thought that having an already made SD could be an easy way to start and see if it "catches" you enough to learn and study more about.
One of the most famous distributor (don't know if there are many or just them) states that a part of the earnings is donated back to the project, but obviously going the DIY way gives you the choice of donating how much you want and 100% to the project.
If I can manage to have more time to dedicate to the device will go for sure for the second option, and I noticed there's already a couple of long threads with lot of information so it's just a matter of finding the time.

Anyway I'm really impressed with the device, too bad that B&N at this stime is still limiting to USA & UK only, so the community can't grow too much at the moment.
