I think some of you might find it interesting that I returned my HD+ because I had some issues with it, and when I opened up my new one and registered it through WiFi, it did not automatically update to 2.0.5. I went to Software Updates in settings and saw that my device was on 2.0.2. I clicked check for updates and it says no updates available. Anyone know what's up with this? Did B&N pull update 2.0.5 from their servers?

No, I had that happen before. I think B&N just doles out the updates to make sure everyone does not try to update all at once.

Same here nook HD+ up to date, system in test mode, ver 2.02. Have 2 nooks the 9" plays game that 7" won't play. 9" has 2.04 ver, 7" has 2.02.
I wonder if processor speed issue or newer version firmware has fix to allow game to play? Checked database file OTA mode set to auto.

The hardware (screen, etc) is different on the two devices, so that may make a difference on whether apps run. And the updated software may help.

If you skipped OOBE and aren't registered with B&N, then I don't think you'll get the OTA update. You could try downloading it from B&N and sideloading it. But then you'd probably need to reroot with the new method.

This happened on my Nook HD+ as well. Had 2.0.2 out of the box, wouldn't automatically update to 2.0.5. Tried a number of times over two days to check for updates only to get "no update available". Went to the Nook support boards and some said that servers might be busy/blocked from time time from everyone trying to update Nooks from Christmas.

I just went here and manually loaded 2.0.5.
