I don't buy this....(the streaming client on Shield is developed by Splashtop inc. too).

You are correct. It was developed in-house, not by Splashtop.I don't buy this....

They're both based on a same "idea", so the claim that it's an "evolution" is true. But that doesn't mean they share code or that Spashtop *wrote* the SHIELD streaming. So if you walk the market speak, you can see where all of this is true.Well I asked directly to nVidia (Italy) on Facebook after CES 13 and they confirmed it's an evolution of the Splashtop clientYou can also refuse to believe me (or maybe nVidia italy is not reliable enough), but don't forget that Splashtop was a startup company sponsored by Nvidia itself during CES 12.
However those "tips" looks too similar:
SHIELD Tips
SPLASHTOP Tips
Don't you think?
(the lack of updates for the THD version of Splashtop is a clue too that they could be involved and they want to avoid internal competition.
My 2 cents.
Edit: you are a reliable person too agrabren , so I don't want to be sarcastic at all. It would be a problem however if your colleagues gives false declarations at direct questions![]()
Well then, my initial question is legitThey're both based on a same "idea", so the claim that it's an "evolution" is true. But that doesn't mean they share code or that Spashtop *wrote* the SHIELD streaming. So if you walk the market speak, you can see where all of this is true.![]()
I can't answer either of those questions without either being considered biased or getting in trouble with work. Understand that I'm not a sanctioned rep, I got involved with SHIELD *because* of my dev community experience, but that doesn't mean I can leak anything I want to share.Well then, my initial question is legitWhat are the performance compared to Splashtop?
Can you tell us if it can be sideloaded on different devices other than shield or if there will be specific requirements that will forbid its functioning on "generic/tegra" devices? (This is the key factor for my purchase
)
Thanks
