If the one up device is paid for in one year you keep it and would start over with a new device. If you're still paying you would turn it in. If the one up device is deactivated for 30 days the remaining balance in due the on the next bill.

No I dont work for sprint just a phone junkie like a lot of peeps here. I did do the one up. One up is like rent a center. You pay for the device till you own it. It also fulfills your current contract obligation. If you do it you're no longer on your current contract.

I was eligible for a 2 year contract upgrade on 1/1/14 before doing the one up and now it says

"As of now, you are eligible for Sprint One Up w/ give back.
As of 7/1/14, you are eligible for 2yr svc agr savings or Sprint One Up."

Doesn't that sound kinda weird?

Do you have to take out the total equipment repair option or is that included? I wasn't asked about it when I did the one up yesterday and now I feel I should get it,

Its not included and i wouldn't be able to sleep if i didn't have it. This phone cost too much if stolen or broken to pay full price.

I was told you have to get it for atleast 1 month then you can take it off if you wish. They also told me if you break your phone and have no insurance and you want to One up again in 12 months to let's say the note 4 you cannot give them a broke phone.

i was due for an upgrade and bought the phone at the upgrade price. total came out to $374.49 after tax. i didn't know much about the 1up but which route would have been better/cheaper? 1up or just the 2yr upgrade price? :fingers-crossed:

To buy the phone for $350 now if you can afford it and have an upgrade. You either pay $350 now or $700 over two years. Or you can stop paying for it in 12 months and get let's say the note 4 but will have to restart the one up process. Ultimately buying it for $350 is better but you can't upgrade every year.

For me the one up was better. Payments for a year come to about $360 then take out the $15 discount on the data. Comes to around

$180. When the Note 4 comes out I will trade in my Note 3 and start the one up again. The one up is perfect for those of us that upgrade every year when it comes to saving money.

Never thought of it that way. So basically if you don't upgrade in 12 months and keep paying the $30 minus the $15 technically you'll only be paying the contract upgrade anyway.

Let me ask this question. If I want to keep this device and let's say pay an extra $30/month, in 12 months I can keep this phone and get an upgrade and still keep getting the $15 off a month because I did the One up again correct?

That is the way it was explained to me but will have to wait till next year to find our for sure. Sprint hasn't exactly made the one up very clear for customers. I has thought about doing as you said so I could pass the Note3 on to one of my kids but it will all depend on how they handle the starting of the one up if you already have a the device paid for.

Unless you do not want to change your plan. The new plans are more expensive for people with 3 or more lines

As far as I know the $15 off is just an introductory special. . No guarantee it will continue

Depends on your situation. We have five lines and by limiting the kids to 1G since they are mainly at home on Wi-Fi, we pay right at what we did before not counting the monthly phone installment.

That may be true.. I guess If you need unlimited data like we do than it is more expensive. I tried to convince people they do not needed unlimited data but no one was buying ha ha ha

We took at a look at their usage before we made the switch and each of them used under 1G so it worked out good. I am constantly streaming at work so no way I could go without my unlimited. If we had Wi-Fi at work it may be different. Everyone's situation is different.

What, you had to trade in your current device to get started in the One Up program!!!??? I didn't have to give them anything except $49 for taxes on the retail price, that's it!! I was getting mixed answers when calling both local stores and calling 611. Thursday I called 611 and asked again. The rep told me I did NOT have to trade in my current device! I had her verify that with her manager, and then also had her put a note on my account saying that I did NOT have to trade in my current phone!! How long ago did you get your last upgrade, or a better question I guess, when were you eligible for a normal upgrade?
Im guessing you didnt have to trade in your phone because you didnt have to pay contract price for it. Im also guessing you are probably one of the few who buys their phone straight up, which made you exempt from having to trade a phone for the One Up Program. Now it wouldve been super cool if you managed to get them to let you keep your phone and still get into the program (which is what I really need altho I got my phone at contract price) and here is why.

Last year sometime, I got the S3. The rep who sold it to me didnt put insurance back on it, I just learned not too long ago that I've been without insurance for over half a year. My S3 is bugging out, and I need/want the N3 (but I dont want to give it up cause I can still use it for other purposes). Since my phone isnt insured, it looks as if I need to find a cheap phone and put that on my line to hand it over if i must give up a phone, but I read that Sprint has caught on to this and ending the quick swap.

I also have a question about the One Up program as well (for anybody). If im forced to give up my s3, and take the n3, I have to pay the $350 in 12 months to upgrade to N4? Or, do i have the 12 months to pay the $699 before i can upgrade to the N4?

You pay 12 payments you can do another 1up but you turn in your device and it must be in working order and the rest of the payments go byebye

I didn't buy my Note 2 or white Evo LTE at contract price, but I was still under contract for my black Evo LTE. I wasn't eligible for a regular upgrade until 1-1-14. I even took my black Evo LTE in to the Sprint store when I got my Note 3, just to see how much they would offer me for it. So I was in the same situation as you, bought a phone last year under contract, but I didn't have to give it to them to start the One Up program. I'm guessing that I just got lucky though. Like I said, most Sprint reps told me that I did have to give them my current phone because I was still in contract. Maybe I simply lucked up because the program is new AND the phone that was active on my account at the time wasn't the phone that put me in contract? Not sure, but I'm very happy with how it worked out for me!

For your question about the program : You're given 24 months to pay for the retail price of the phone. Whenever you pay it off, you can upgrade to a new phone without having to give back your current phone. If you want to make the normal monthly payments, then you can upgrade in 1 year but you do have to give them them that phone back so you can upgrade. Whether or not you upgrade in 1 year is completely up to you.
