So, I decided to overhaul my epic today, basically clean everything up and try and reset it back to a factory type state. I noticed that since i change my rom almost every week, alot of stuff gets left behind when i flash a new one, even after completely wiping data/cache/dalvek X3. In fact if i use a program like root explorer even after Odining my phone back to stock eclair i still am able to see folders and other random tweaks that are left from this GPS fix or that "theme change".

One of the things I noticed lately is that my notification light has basically stopped working all together. I'm certain it isnt a hardware issue as the light didnt just randomly stop all together, but rather happened after i went into a leaked gingerbread rom, i think EF02. I want to find a fix for this, and im sure there is something i can type into the terminal to calibrate the LED.

Also as a side question, is it possible to completely delete all the left over stuff from other roms? Ive tryed Odining back to eclair, tryed the silly hard-reset thing with the button on the back, tryed everything i can get my hands on. anyone have a clue?

No I don't think your led will require recalibration. :) Try downloading handcent and test the custom led settings (you have to set 100 red or 100 blue other settings won't get results. Besides the pink one which I think is a combination of 100 on two colors I can't remember which) and if this doesn't work you might have a hardware problem.

Edit: and for your other question wiping 3x in cwm should get the job done besides the modem. That you'll have to odin back.

Cd's or tapes?

If said rom uses the Bonsai EF02 beta kernel, then that's your problem. Flashing chris41g's EG22 kernel should restore your LED.

I remember, my led stopped working, because I had it turned off in eclair, and when I upated to eb13, there was no longer a setting to toggle, so it was stuck off. Since then, I've rooted, and had to wipe data, which fixed it for me.
