Once again shame on HTC who simply put a dumb class 2 SD card in its devices.

They don't care if class 2 sd cards are bad, are slow and not reliable.

LCD screen, class 2SD card and poor battery. HTC definitely wants to make easy money with the cheapest components possible.

Congratulations to Samsung which definitely made a goob job with its Omnia 7/Focus line.

Im very happy HTC used an SD Card, means I get to upgrade to 32gb

Yup I wouldn';t have minded a rubbish class2 card in the OMnia 7 either...at least we woudl be able to upgrade it!

We are just stuck with 8Gb...although having said that, I've had 16GB Omnia, Omnia II and HTC Desire 8Gb with 16Gb card and never used any of them for media stuff...

Always trusted in my awesome Cowon PMPs! :)

Olympic levels of disappointment

I have had my Omnia 7 for 24 hours, and it's going back.

There are two issues.

The first is that the speaker phone is very poor - and this matters to me a lot.
The second is the decision to only include 8GB of storage on the device. I hoped it would be enough, but it just isn't. After OS requirements and space for apps etc, I installed my work music collection onto the machine - 720 songs, and there is 1.5GB left. Not even enough for a movie.

At this stage, I would definately rate the Windows Phone 7 OS - it's fast, slick, and very, very cool, but MS's decision to restrict user expandable memory has made WinPho7 a no-go for me.

I can't understand why, for a few extra bucks, MS didn't specify a minimum of 16 or even 32 GB of storage. That would have made the devices killers and given the long production runs and relative cheapness of SD RAM cards so much of a price issue.

I tried the HD7 (which you can hack to upgrade), but my hand is too small for my right thumb to comfortably reach the left hand edge of the screen.

I'm gutted. Stupid MS.

La Baume d'Hostun :)
I think M$ has asked the manufacturers just to put 8Gb in their phones in order to help promote their ****ty Zune Pass.
As your phone has low memory, you can stream it so that you don't need to store...

I am really disapointed with this OS. Too much bug, even for a first release.

Sorry Zune Pass is actually a great subscription service and as for your other comments, not really worth commenting on!

I agree with you that Zune Pass is a great service, but I already bought a lot of music that I can't put in my phone, and I'm not really enjoyed to pay again for my songs !

Nope. Microsoft only said, that there shouldn't be a SD-Slot in the devices. The manufacturers themselves decide, how much GB they put into the phones. Have a look at the HTC Mozart. Here in Germany it has 16 GB, other countries only have 8. So HTC COULD choose the amount of space given to a phone and I bet Samsung could do it as well.
It's a bit of shame having just 8 GB, that true, but it's not Microsofts fault.

Edit: forgot to look at the specs on the german T-Mobile site. http://www.t-mobile.de/shop/handy/0,4855,2963-_122595-0-xxx_tariff_xxx-0,00.html
It will be sold with a storage og 16 GB. Knowing this I think I'll get one instead of the Desire HD.

Pity about that. I thought it would be upgradable but I was wrong :(

Yes, you can. Every official T-Mobile store should have them but they could/will be more expensive. You can try in different stores though. Some might have them as these shops sell all phones with(out) any contract.
