[Q] Outbound SMS not working on latest CM11 Nightly

I don't know what exactly happened to my device, but I ended up having to reset the SMSC number. I found instructions for it here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/SMSC_Updates

I can see voice+ in settings>apps, but i unable to see that in apps list to run.

Do you have the regular Google Voice app instlalled? If not, try installing it and see if the Voice+ app becomes active and then see if you can disable the text through Voice app.

I'm having the same problem. When I try to download Google Voice from the play store it tells me I'm silly because I'm in Canada. I don't have Voice+ as an app, but I can still find it and force it to stop, which obviously does nothing. This is getting really frustrating!

OK, so here is the fix that worked for me. If you have Voice+ installed, disable it. Outbound SMS will work after that! :laugh:

Open the caller app -> type "*#*#4636#*#* -> Phone information -> Scroll down -> Hit "Turn on IMS registration required" -> Hit "Turn on SMS over IMS"


After I've done this, my phone got all the missing messages at once

OK, I have tried:

This disables google synched accounts for me and does not resolve outbound sms issues.

I don't have Voice+ as an app, but I can still find it and force it to stop, which obviously does nothing.

I also can see Voice+ if I go to settings->apps and stop it (disable grayed out), but this does nothing. Being in Australia, I do not have Google voice installed on the device, nor can i find it via the google play store.

Any other ideas as to what to try to find the cause of this issue ?

Ok im from canada too and dont have VOICE ++ in the app drawr, just in settings>apps

Play store does nto have google voice available

anyone want to float me the apk

This started happening to me on the 7th after updating the latest nightly and go sms pro. I thought it was an issue with sms pro but it's kind of worked itself out after a few days. For those who can see Voice+ in Settings>Apps but cannot do anything about it, try using a 3rd party app manager. I used ROM Toolbox' app manager to freeze the app. Try that & see what happens. I've been able to send SMS all day, albeit things are a little choppy, so I'm not sure if this has fixed the problem for good or not. Just thought I'd throw it out there for anyone having issues disabling it.

Same probleme.. France this time...

i have a motorola droid 4 imported from the US, i have too this probleme of outbound sms with exactly the same things as described previously. I think the problem come from that in certains country google voice isn't avaible. I was able to stop app, but always problem, also installed ROM Toolbox lite : I see and disable the receiver, but always no result after reboot.. that very horrible they worked on previous release...

ok, I just succeed to completly remove voice+ of my device. The problem is still here. I just add that i have already checked the SMSC and the number is ok (in telephone number format and hexadecimal format) I will try to connect to adb and see if something happens in the logs...

I just check the log and the only messages which appears are :

com.android.mms SmsReceiverService onStart: #1 mResultCode: -1 = Activity.RESULT_OK
com.android.mms SmsReceiverService onStart: #1 mResultCode: 1 = SmsManager.RESULT_ERROR_GENERIC_FAILURE

I've found solution!

As I've described before - CM11 had outgoing SMS issue..

So after applying GSM patch - it was fixed - simple working solution

Are you having the same issue with just the outbound SMS? My inbound sms and in/outbound MMS work just fine. It's weird.

same problem simple mobile razr hd xt926 any idea you can fix it already...

Apparently this is still a problem for some.
If you have cm11, here's a quick how to without needing to install the Voice+ app (and this should work with Google Voice installed too).

Navigate to Settings->More(in network section) and locate Voice+
Set the account to use to "disable".
Outbound SMS should start working again.

CM11 Sending SMS Problem solved!

I was also have the same problem, not able to send SMS after replacing the stock rom with cm11. After lot of googling also I was not able to correct the problem. Attempt Changing SMSC from 00 also failed. Then I found the root cause, that is while flashing cm11 I wiped everything including internal memory that only created the problem. Hence again I flashed stock rom and changed the SMS message center number and again I flashed CM11 this time without wiping internal memory. Now SMS is working!!!
