[Q] phone wont connect to carrier after encryption

hi all!

i am currently using the cm10.1.2 from davidteri91 in rc4.5. after installing i encrypted my phone for the first time. after the encryption my phone wont connect to my carrier anymore ('emergency calls only'). i tried manual selecting a carrier but none of the 4 is working ('could not connect'). i checked the sim-card for correct placement and i am sure i had connection before i encrypted my phone.

now my 2 questions are:
1. is it plausible and possible i cant connect anymore due to the encryption?
2. how do i revert / undo the encryption?

in addition to this i have very high battery usage because the phone is constantly searching for a connection it seems...

i forgot to mention: i am using the samsung galaxy s+ (i9001)...

ok, for now i fixed it with wiping the whole thing.

but still would be interesting whats the problem here and how to make it work... if anybody knows anything please let me know!
