Behind you
Hello guys,
I'm using ARHD 6.0 with the newest kangaroo kernel on my incredible S.
While the phone is being plugged to a wall charger, it works a lot faster and much smoother. I've experienced other Roms that would lag while being charged.
How can it possibly be that the phone works better with a charger plugged in?
It really drives me crazy since the heat of the charge should affect negatively.

Placebo effect?

Hi,there. ARHD 6.0 is known for its stability plus performance and i think here it's all about power managment.
Modern gaming laptops with discrete graphics give only about 2/3 of their performance while working from battery.
In case of laptop it's a bios regulated feature and as far as i know it's not possible to affect it in the OS.
And in phone it may be some sort of kernel tweak which regulates performance and sets cpu to 100% while charging.
This may be the explanation of performance boost and high temperature in your device.

Try to measure performance in Antutu or smth like that. It's the only way to check it.

I've experienced the same on my phone across several ROMs, kernels, governors etc. I suspect my battery can't deliver enough power as it's quite worn. With a charger connected everything gets the power it demands.

I started suspecting this after I connected a charger and the digitizer stopped working, I had random freezes etc. When I checked the charger it was marked as "150mA", which is extremely low. When using a charger at >=700mA everything is smooth, so I suppose this makes sense. A new battery is in the mail so I'll find out soon :)
