As seen in the Jelly Bean Leaks, it seems like Galaxy note 10.1 will be getting the same features as the galaxy note 2. Will you still be getting the device? I CAN afford to get it, but I think my wifi-tether (razr maxx crazy battery)+Note 10.1 may be okay?

But that device looks so sexy.. Would it be worth it for me to flip my razr maxx on craigslist for the note 2 despite the feature overlap between the tablet and the phablet?

Well, considering you have the Razr Maxx I'm guessing you're on VZW like me. And rumor has it that the Note 2's bootloader is locked on VZW which frankly sucks. I actually have an SGS3 on Verizon and the only reason the bootloader is unlocked is because someone leaked an insecure one, otherwise it'd probably still be locked. The SGS3 is great with CM10, stock Touchwiz was fine but lacked a little bit of smoothness, so it remains to be seen whether the Note 2 with Jelly Bean will be comparable to CM10 in terms of smoothness, but I somehow doubt it. A lot of people might refrain from flashing non-Touchwiz ROMs on the Notes specifically because of the added functionality in Touchwiz, but to be honest I find S Note pretty limited and multitasking was more of a gimmick than anything that useful, so I'm happily running CM10 on my Note 10.1 and SGS3.

I'm actually strongly considering selling my SGS3 to get the Note 2 but that's definitely not going to happen until the bootloader is unlocked. We might get lucky again and some kind soul might leak the insecure bootloader again, but until that happens I'm keeping my GS3. On the flip side though, if the Note 2 is unlocked I'll probably flip my SGS3 pretty fast because I've actually managed to damage it like a clumsy idiot (to be fair, my Fascinate sustained way more abuse in 2 years than the S3 in one month and still is in perfect working order, stupid slippery back). If I can get someone to buy my GS3 as is for at least $300 I'd definitely go for the Note 2. (My GS3 fell in water and on the ground face first and the SD card slot is wonky and there's a small crack on the front but it works fine besides that).

Sadly, I'm going to pass on the Note 2, despite the fact that I'm sure it's going to be flat out awesome. I had the opportunity to play with the original Note, and it's great, but just way too big for me. I love my red AT&T SGS3 too much, and I haven't had it for very long, either -- the Note's screen size is just getting a smidge too large for my small girl hands to operate one-handed on the few occasions where I'd like to use it that way. Heck, the S3 is pushing the limits on size for me, and I've only got it wrapped in an incipio feather case! If all the manufacturers start making 5+ inch phones, I'm in serious trouble. ;)

I'm with wingzero on the size thing. Sure, I wish my phone had a stylus... but my Nexus S is already pushing the limits of size. Anything bigger and I wouldn't be able to squeeze it into my pockets, and I wouldn't be able to carry it in my water pack on long runs. If anything, I plan on getting a smaller phone when my contract runs up (hooray for Canada's 3 year contracts...)

I got the s3 this summer. I was debating waiting for the unannounced note 2, or picking up the s3 and I decided to go with the s3 Note 10.1 combination.

Not that I'm regretting my decision, because I love my phone, but I still love the idea of a 5.5 inch screen. I'll likely be ditching the s3 for the Note 3 next year. :)

Noooooope. As awesome as the Note II is, it's just way too big. As long as this tablet provides the same features, I don't think I'll need a mini version of it.

Right now I'm rocking a NS4g, and couldn't be happier with it. Just got the official JB update, and it runs well. I'll save for the new Nexus phone in a year or so.

Yes i am totally getting it. In a professional setting i find myself needing a note pad to write things down when talking to coworkers and carrying around my tablet is just awkward. It will be good when I'm mobile and the tablet will be for at my desk
