A friend gave me his Desire S to have a look at it, maybe to fix it.
It doesn't respond to the buttons anymore, from time to time an orange LED blinks when it's plugged in and shortly after. He said it just stopped working sometime and wouldn't start again.
When I connect it to my PC it is recognized as HTC Android device.
Is this something I can fix or is it a hardware error?

It was plugged in for the last 2 hours. The LED is not on while connected to the charger. Pressing the power button results in nothing :|
Does adb recognise it

“Hardware: The parts of a computer system that can be kicked.”

Code:
\ADB>adb devices
List of devices attached
nothing :(

the only thing every (i guess) 30 seconds, the orange LED goes on for 3 seconds

Sounds like the bootloader isn't working properly. If that's indeed what the problem is, you can either send it to htc or buy yourself a replacement emmc that has hboot preinstalled (yes, they exist) and try to replace the emmc yourself (which is not easy).
