Hi.

I think i've screwed up in trying to root my Desire HD and i would need your help to unbrick it. Let me explain the process.

I had 2.3.3 - 2.50.405.2 installed on my DHD and decided to update it to 2.3.5 (Sense 3.0) - 3.12.405.1. So far, so good. I downloaded the RUU (RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_225512_signed.exe) and installed it with no problems, getting a fresh stock version.

Then i tryed to root it using an aahk version i had here in my pc (aahk-29102011), and that seemed to be the problem.
When i used it, after successfully starting the update process, it failed leaving my phone in the red exclamation point error screen, after the phone reboots always 2 times, where i can access the Android system recovery (3e) with the following options:

- Reboot system now
- Apply sdcard:update.zip
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition

I already tryed all the options with no sucess.
- rebooting the phone, just gets me to the same screen over and over. Even taking out the battery and turning it on doesnt help here.
- I tryed to apply an update.zip, getting the ROM.zip from the RUU, placing it in the root directory of the sdcard, but i get the error E:signature verification failed
- wiping both data/factory reset and cache didnt help either.

I saw some info that booting the phone into bootloader mode would allow me to connect it to my PC and try to update it, but when i press the - volume button followed by the power button, the phone just boots normally and comes to the 3e screen.

Maybe the stock RUU doesn't allow bootloader?

Is there a way so that i can just flash back the RUU or another ROM, either by a signed update.zip or another way?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Put your sd card in another phone, download a new Rom, put your phone into recovery, wipe cache, wipe date, then flash the new Rom. That should work. :)

Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using XDA App
