Ok, quite a long story so here goes,
I bought an atrix 4G which worked fine but had a slightly unresponsive area about 3/4 of the way up the screen, no big deal, I was using it happily. It then got rooted and the bootloader unlocked. The room that was then installed also installed a custom bootloader image which wouldn't load and screwed it up completely. I tried all suggestions and could not get passed/by/remove the image.
I have now bought another atrix and have found that this too has a unresponsive screen down the left side (over the w e s z line) that kinda sucked so decided to swap the motherboard. At least I could use the original screen. After doing this I booted without problems. I found the original unresponsive area but also found that the left hand strip was still not responding. Without the ability to boot the other phone I couldn't find out if it worked or not. So I have switched it all back to how it was, no problems but I am wondering if it is just a software fault(?) any help would be great.
Thanks in advance

Try flashing a touch recovery and see if you can use the unresponsive zone.
(To see if it's the rom or the kernel)

Thanks

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll try the flash recovery. I don't see how it can be just the digitiser. I switched the motherboards and the problems continued including the original blank spot which I know is dying anyway but I'm trying to see if the second one is faulty or just software.
