[Q] Power toggle to /system => Battery not charging anymore ?

Hello,

10 days ago, my razr I refused to charge with no reasons ...everything was fine with the battery. I've tried many chargers&wires with no luck.
Now battery is flat ...

The day before the recharge problem, I installed power toggles to /system to have GPS direct control.
Do you think it could be related ?

I don't think so. I have used Power toggles for a year and I haven't had any problems.

thats a problem...

it could be a software or hardware fault.
why u didnt try to flash stock rom before battery was gone?

now u will need a special "Factory cable" to recharge battery. (or disassemble and recharge battery directly)
after recharge u can try to flash stock and hope it will work normaly.
otherwise its a hardware fault and u will need a new motherboard.

XT890 is also charging in Bootloader/Fastboot mode so connect charger holding Vol- button and wait for boot in Bootloader mode. If this way it wont charge it's hardware problem.

Thanks for correcting. When I bricked my RAZRi I figured it's charging also in bootloader mode.

is there a difference in charging with or without bootloader mode?
i think, if its not charging while it is off, it also will not charge in bootloader mode...

but this is really a easy way to get into bootloader mode

Not really cause if You wipe Your system partition phone wont charge just after plug charger but only in bootloader or recovery mode. But in Your case I don't think You damaged system so bad to even not charge. 90% it's hardware problem.

OK, but i think thats a big difference!

That would mean the following:
(didnt know the damaged BL part)

As the battery is really flat (no light/vibration) when i press start button, I can't even enter bootloader.
Now I have to wait for a factory cable. (Found on amazon england for about 10€)

Yes, but nothing happens.
With no more power, do you think the device could boot in bootloader mode anyway with VOL - ?

The day it happened, I've tried few times to start with USB or wall plug, and the startup green led and vibration did work. But nothing more due to the low battery status.
Now, it's completely dead : no led, no vibration

I've tried lots of VOL+/- POWER / wire combinations ... without result.

Next step is to try the warranty ... But bootloader was unloked

Anyway, the phone was planed to replace my wife's HTC DESIRE for christmas (and a new one for me )
Now I'm owner of a Moto X (2013) ... Christmas occurs in september for me
Well ... I'm sad because this phone is (was) still a good phone for me but ... let me tell you guys ... The moto X rocks ! (2 gigs RAM is a huge improvement for me)

It depends in which country you live. You can't get a new one from Motorola, but maybe at the shop u still can

Hello friends, i'm back again.
I've changed the battery (it's not that difficult with good tool and video tutorial)
Now I can boot the phone and it's working fine except ... not charging :crying:
I've restored a backup made in august, and still no charge.

Battery is now 58% ... And phone is turned off to keep precius power. I'm pobably facing a motherboard issue
I think i'll try to flash a completely different ROM, but any advice welcome.

Razr I resurected

Finaly, nothing changed with another ROM
But I found a good offer for a broken razr i. The phone was still working but no screen.
Everything working fine now i've changed the motherboard. And I have 3 batteries (original one, a new from amazon, and the one that came with motherboard )
I think i can keep the phone for a decade .
