[Q] Problem unlocking defy legally

okey, so I get the unlock code from my carrier and surprise surprise, it doesn't work, I flashed a defy+ sbf in my defy, I downgraded using the chinese rom metod, could that be reason it doesn't work? the new bootloader? any idea of what could be wrong?

Usually if a phone has been modded the phone will accept the unlock code (if correct) but then fail to actually.

It could be the mod which is causing the issue, so do give it a try to return the phone back to stock - but usually the phone will at least accept the code if correct.
