I bought my Tab 7.7 3 days ago. Its the 16GB 3G variant. Gtalk video just refuses to work. It will initiate the call and then just close the call window when the other party answers. The same thing occurs when I receive a Gtalk video chat request and answer the call. It usually shows a black screen where the other contact's video feed should be showing and occasionally shows my face and sometimes does not. But it always, always closes the chat window after I answer or the other person answers. I tried updating the firmware to the latest European version, LA3, but the problem persists.

I know that it's not a problem with my connection since my Galaxy Note is able to pull of Gtalk video chats without a hitch and Skype video works fine on both the Tab 7.7 and the Note.

I would really appreciate any feedback on your experiences with Gtalk video on the 7.7 since it is my second most frequently used app.

Anyone? Is Gtalk video chat working properly for all of you?
I just tried it from my tablet to my sister computer and it worked perfectly over wifi.

Unfortunatly i dont think it works over 3g though.

I think your "problem" is the other persons Internet speeds. I did just have a perfect conversation with my sister but whenever i try and call my mom in Malaysia it tends to be very hit and miss if it is going to work or not.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I found out that maxing the image stabilization slider causes some problems with the camera drivers and may cause the Gtalk app to hang sporadically. It also results in a wonky picture. Turning the stabilization slider to minimum seems to have improved the stability of the Gtalk app and I tested it in a Gtalk video chat between the tab and a laptop over WiFi yesterday and found it to be working fine. Still having audio issues with my gf, so it's possible that her connection or my 3G data plan is the culprit. The funny thing is that I havent had the same issues over 3G with my Galaxy Note.
