[Q]Put SD card in PC, made file changes but they dont show on phone

Hey guys.

I put my MicroSD card in my PC using a little card reader. The card showed up without error and everything looked normal.

I moved some pics from my card to my PC and deleted the folder. Then I deleted some old APK's and added some new ones.

Everything looked normal. I ejected the card like you are supposed to and put it in my phone.

I rebooted the phone, then used Solid Explorer to look at the new APK's... WHICH WERENT THERE.

Nothing I added was on the phone, and even the files I had deleted are there as if I never deleted it.

I am on the TAR update of the new rom. Any Ideas?

Did you have the lock turned on, the one on the card reader itself?

Nope. And the system didn't give me any issues when modify the information.

It was suggested I unmount... But it won't unmount.

I suggest then backing up your content to pc. Then reformat the card.

I agree. A reformat may be your best option.

Well... I cant format it.

I try in the phone and it unmounts, resets, and then mounts back up not deleting anything.

I tried on my computer and windows says that the operation cannot be completed.

What the hell happened?

EDIT: I even went into Phils Recovery and tried to format there. NOTHING.

I read somewhere that this can happen when the card is dead. It goes into a frozen mode and cannot be changed. anyone heard of this?

Yup. It's happened to me twice. It usually gets worse from there, to the point of being unreadable...

For troubleshooting purposes . Can You use Another SD Card in your phone to make sure it's just the card messing up. Who knows ? Maybe the SD reader on Your Note 3 is fried ?

Good to hear. Ive never had this happen to me, but im happy that im not the only one seeing this kind of issue.

I got a good deal on a sammy card, so just bought that and will install it today. Lets just consider it a happy bday to myself.

FYI... new card world fine. Just an odd coincidence that my card dies when I swith to 4.4. Oh well... Thanks for your help guys.

Plug the sd card into pc. Right click on my computer. Click on drives. Look for it there. Right click on the drive/card and reformat it to fat32 single partition. Stick it back into the phone and if its recognized. Reformat it again for android.

Unreadable error on the phone doesn't mean its broken. My lg tv reformatted my sd card and my pc nor phone recognized it. But it still physically showed up on the pc. Just have to know where to look and manually format it.
