[Q] Question regarding rom flashing

If I choose to flash a new rom...say COG 2.3b3...and I also want to incorporate a few other mods....say battery indicator,touchwiz mod, and stock tap screen....would I just un-zip designgears update folder and write the applicable files into their proper folders? Then re-zip his folder and install as usual? Is it THAT easy or am I missing something?

I would flash the Rom as is then back it up. Then you can attempt any mods you like. If something goes bad you can restore your backup. Backup using Rom manager

More or less, yes.

At least, that's what I did in the ROM in my signature for all of those changes.
