[Q] Razr HD in Mexico

actually im waiting for the hd release here in mexico, but my question is, the razr hd/ hd maxx is cdma o gsm? i want to know so if it is possible to buy one from verizon and then unlocked it here in mexico to get it working

The Verizon Razr is a CDMA device, but as far as I know it's also a quadband GSM device, one thing that I don't if it will work on other networks, I am very interested in buying one of these devices but first I want to know the answer you are looking for, or if the GSM only version will be sold in the US.

So the op question would be: Will the Verizon Razr work on outside the US GSM Networks? if it does, will it require unlocking?

pues a nosotros los mexicanos nos toca la version internacional, que seria el RAZR HD a secas, el Droid RAZR HD es la version de Verizon y pues puedes comprar el que quieras, un amigo consiguio un RAZR MAXX de Verizon y ya con la actualizacion ICS se puede usar para Telcel/Movistar... el Droid Razr HD de Verizon tambien puede usarse aqui y ya esta desbloqueado para usarlo en cualquier proveedor...

Yo tambien estoy pensando en comprarlo, vivo en frontera con USA, y me sale mas barato comprar uno de Verizon, pero la version GSM se puede desbloquear el bootloader... asi que a juntar dinero, cuando sale en Telcel? aunque este mas caro...

I plan to use it on Honduras so I will wait till I can get a good price for it.

How do you know that the device has unlocked GSM Radios? Do you know it by experience?

And on a side note, do you happen to know where can I buy it at an affordable price or a store with good reputation?

si de hecho eso es lo que quisiera hacer comprarlo alla ya sea el hd normal o preferiblemente el hd maxx y usarlo aca, lo que no se es si funcione, por que ya vez que muchos telefonos alla no son con sim como aqui, yo tengo telcel con plan y pues aqui tengo el sim mas no se si se pueda usar con el razr hd o el hd maxx desbloqueandolos para poderlos usar aqui por que sin sim ni como funcione

The phone does indeed use a Sim Card, I think is a mini-sim (the standard one).

But the problem is how to make it work in Mexico, i emailed cellunlock.net and 2 other websites and the 3 of them told they wont be able to unlock verizon razr hd / hd maxx, all kind of razr hd can be unlocked by them, except verizon ones, and i havent find either a place or a website to buy one carrier free, not verizon ones

You do not need to find an unlock code for the Verizon HD because it is already unlocked for international GSM networks!
