Okay I just won a Moto Atrix 4G and a Samsung Focus for 100 bucks, the Atrix the seller said is in a bootloop it'll start up and go to the lock screen freeze and then shut down and do it all over again...

So what tools would I need to flash firmware to try and see if that fixes it's problem. I've already got a few zip rom's and a Asain MotoBlur Version 45.0.20 sbf, later cause it was the only one I could find that had a active download I also downloaded the Motorola Device Manager.

So what else do I need?

yes, install Device Manager. does it say unlocked in the upper left corner of the screen when you power up the device?

I'll be receiving them on the 9th so not sure, I'm just trying to get everything prepared, be sweet if all it needs is a factory reset. I always wanted one of these cause of the laptop dock. LoL

The phone itself was all over ebay buy it now for 65 and up, but I lucked out and found a two for one deal, the Samsung Focus works perfectly he said, :D

The Atrix will power up and go thru the 3 initializing screens as pictured here. It will not go beyond that.

ok, so looking at those pics, its a stock 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 (version 141 or 145). can't tell if its been unlocked, but from the seller's description, he has not unlocked it. from here, we can either unlock the bootloader and load a custom ROM on there that will work with the lapdock or we can flash a sbf. seeing as its coming from Daytona and headed to you in Atlanta (thats where xda says you are) you're going to want an ATT sbf. http://das8nt.com/downloads.html

Does that also unlock the sim card or should I be on a certain firmware to get it unlocked when I call AT&T, I ask cause I had to when I unlocked my i317 AT&T Note 2.

Cool thanks for the links, I also got NottachTrix 2.3.0 - With Webtop Options.zip downloaded, it sounds pretty sweet, since I like stock more than AOSP usually...

unlocking the bootloader allows you to load custom ROMs. carrier unlocking is when you call up att and have them unlock it for you so you can use it on other carriers

adb-fastboot Says invalid download file... http://www.4shared.com/zip/0QZqqeXZ/adb-fastboot.html Is it the same as moto-fastboot-win32.zip? I got it last night from filecrop.com

Inside it's own folder is:
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
moto-fastboot.exe
same thing, but moto-fastboot allows you to flash larger *.img files

I guess to be on the safe side, first I'll flash 1ff-olympus-user-2.3.6-4.5.141-111212-release-keys-signed-att-us-gas_na_olpsgbattspe_p012.sbf since can't really tell right off hand if it's 2.3.4 or 2.3.6, then after that I'll root and unlock the bootloader. Hopefully then it'll be good and all set.

yes, that is the correct sbf for 2.3.6. there is an update that was released after the sbf. it keeps it at 2.3.6, but upgrades it from 141 to 145.

Looks like I'll be getting the phones tomorrow... Then I can operate a lil and see if all this fixes it.

As far as after I update firmware over again, root and unlock bootloader, NottachTrix 2.3.0 would be good full featured compatible rom right?

It kept rebooting even after the official firmware update, now I'm stuck in fastboot 14 menu entry mode "Failed to boot 0x1000" cause I tried to flash pudding's sbf file...

But yea it would sit there then if ya went to touch the skin it'd reboot immediately then just keep rebooting over and over again up to the lock screen, shutting down, powering back up et cetera.

I can't get it to do anything. It just sits there at this screen:
Code:
SVF:105:1:2
Failed to boot 0x1000
No OS detected, going to RSD Mode in 5 seconds
Press a key to stop count down
Available Modes are:
1 RSD
2 Fastboot
3 NVFlash
4 BP HW Bypass RSD
5 BP HW Bypass QCDLOAD
6 BP HW Diag & Boot AP
7 BP HW Bypass BPOnly
8 BP SW Bypass RSD
9 Android Recovery ***(See my note below)
10 Boot Android (No BP) ***(See my note below)
11 Device UID
12 console=ttyS0, 115200n8 (I think that's an s don't look like a 5)
13 Early USBEnumeration
14 BP Tools

Vol up to select, Vol down for next choice

Current choice mode is: RSD

Starting Fastboot protocol support

Unlocking your device may void your warranty
I can't get it to come out of this screen also Vol up and down appear to do nothing I think... It's not picking up as being in RSD in RSD Lite.

Notes. I tried doing a Cold boot (#10) and it did the same thing this was all before I tried flashing the new firmware only to have the same ill effects. I got it to go into Android Recovery earlier, before firmware update, but tapping on the lower right corner of the screen did nothing, no menu's or anything.

Ok you're almost there.

Reboot it, get into fastboot
Fastboot oem unlock
*screen displays warning and a code*
Fastboot oem unlock *insert code here without asteriks*

The only unlocker I have that I know of is pudding/4547-fix-try2.sbf

I believe it caused the fastboot only issue or whatever this screen is...

I have this folder too, if it'll do me any good.

That is the correct pudding. Flash that, and if it gives you the same error, get into fastboot and run the commands from my previous post

Yea I'm waiting/hoping the battery somehow gets a charge so I can start over, did nothing when the phone was turned off, leave it on the 0x1000 error screen plugged into the charger to see if charges that way.

Nope, it won't charge that way. You need to boot a rom for that. You can charge the battery outside the phone, on some other thread (can't remember which) there was a howto using a spare charger

Hit the damn thanks button instead!
