Alright. A couple of days ago, I came across a guide about building a custom kernel from source for Mediatek devices. The guide was authored by @MasterAwesome here on our forum. It realy grabbed my interest. So I was searching for a source for my device, a local brand here in the Philippines named Cherry Mobile Flare Lite whos specs are listed below;
Cherry Flare Lite Specifications:
- 4.0-Inch Capacitive Display
- Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS
- 1.0GHz Dual Core MediaTek MT6572 Processor
- Mali-400 GPU
- 512MB of RAM
- 5.0 Megapixel Main Camera with LED Flash
- 2.0 Megapixel Front Camera
- 4GB Internal Storage
- Expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD
- Dual SIM/Dual Standby
- 3G HSPA+, 2G EDGE and GPRS Networks
- Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Hotspot
- Bluetooth 4.0
- GPS
- FM Radio
- MicroUSB
- 3.5mm Audio Jack
- Accelerometer
- Proximity Sensor
- Ambient Light Sensor
- 1,300mAh Battery
I was wondering if I can use a source of another device which has the same specification as mine and same chipset to build kernel for my device. Is it possible guys? Also, if you know a device with the same chipset and specs with source(Kernel), please inform me. Thanks!
