[Q] Remote Login to Macbook

I had a time today where I needed some information on my macbook but did not have it around and had to walk someone through where to find it on my laptop. This got me thinking, is there a way to be able to remote login to my Macbook from my Captivate even if I am not on the same network? I saw the logmein android app but do not have $30 to spend on that. Are there any other ways?
