As the topic states, how do I remove the shutter sound when taking pictures? Putting the phone in silent mode does not help. I am on the latest ics retail.EU rooted. And also for video recording please
Thanks

Open up the camera app. Press the menu button (at the bottom of the phone). Press the gear on the menu that opens up. This is the camera settings menu. Scroll all the way down to the bottom. There is a setting there called "shutter tone". Just unchecked the box next to it and that disables the camera sound.

So easy if you are rooted. Use root explorer or es go to /system/media/audio/ui and delete or rename camera_click.ogg

You have 2 be rooted.
1. Go to system/build.
2. Edit build.prop (I'm using Root Explorer)
3. Go yo ro.camera.sound.forced=1
4. Replace 1 and put 0 ( ro.camera.sound.forced=0)
5. Save it
6. Reboot
7. Now go to camera settings, and switch of the sound
I do apologise for any inconvenience. I didn't realise there is so many difference between them.
Do you see a little notch in the bottom left?
If so slide it out! (to the right!)
i already did but there is no such option to remove shutter sound from the stock camera menu
