[Q] replacing outer screen on s3

well my new s3 fell out of my car door side pocket today .. despite the screen cover it cracked the outer screen
still usable but 2 hairline cracks very visible
i've read there are now outer screen available for purchase on ebay fo $10.
decriptions say remove/seperate the old outer screen with a hot hair dryer ,,

has anyone tried this ? can it be done ?

that thread referred to a full screen replacement
then that referred to a single person who had done it
both of which i had searched, read and taken in
so perhaps the question still stands unless you want to bump your post count some more.

who has successfully done this .. and who has tried and failed .
