Two questions.
1) I need to know if a root is avlbl now ?
2) I followed Sony Article ID:474705 on "How to connect Sony Tablet with adb protocol through USB?"
At one stage it says to type 3. Open a command prompt and enter the following command: echo 0x54c >> %HOMEPATH%\.android\adb_usb.ini
the question is everytime i restart the computer i get a open with window trying to open "0x54c Noswal\.android\adb_usb.ini"
how do i disable that
I've checked in msconfig nothing there
nothing in run, runonce entries in the registry, nothing in the startup menu.
Please Help.

If you have the first gen tab then no root is available as Sony locked down the recovery so no shell in recovery. If you have the xperia tablet s then you can use condi's flasher tool to flash pre rooted JB.

BOOOOO!!!

Bad form Sony!! I just started to have problems with my Sony Tablet S (I have the original sgpt111us) I ran into problems recently and it seems everywhere I turn I run into another road block!!

First my IR stopped working (the main reason I opted for the Sony)
Next I cannot find any third party app that uses IR to test if its the IR or just the app (I found 1 still in beta but haven't been able to find the APK apparently it was only PMed to the testers)
Now I can't root it, which means I can't back-up which means I will not be doing a factory reset to try Sony's ONLY solution
