Yes. Happy to see you here again. Welcome back into the fold.I'm back around after trying out the dark side for the last few months. I got my real estate license, and had been using....an iphone....lol. I had to try it. And ya know, its not all THAT terrible. But there are NO customization options, and it gets really boring. So after denying my inner nerd for the last few months, I decided to just be myself again and come back to what I love. I missed it around here. =D
Did you use the Aragorn method? If not, that's the one (per the 5th post in this thread). Just remember to reboot afterwards.I tried the latest version of Framaroot and I just get error #7. Any suggestion? I really want to root the device to get rid of all the AT&T junk.
I installed ExynosAbuse 1.4 on my SGH-i777 running 4.1. The App informed me that the security whole was "exploitable" (though how it made this determination I do not know) but when I tried to root the device using the one-click rooting feature I was simply told that it was "unable to root" and then the App crashed/closed. I am currently looking for other options.Android_lil,
I had great success using the ExynosAbuse. Follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35512626
It is pretty much as simple as installing the APK. I think I stayed on the stock 4.1.2 for about a day before I started flashing other ROMs, but I didn't notice any problems...
Have fun!

I also have an AT&T i777 on stock 4.1.2 that I'm trying to root. Framaroot/Aragorn says it was successful, but Root Checker says it was not. I have run it multiple times (always rebooting afterwards), and the other available Framaroot exploits fail.I have spent the last 3 hours trying to educate myself on all this stuff. I have an AT&T I777 running the 4.1.2 that AT&T released recently. It runs fine but I've read so much of the advantages of rooting and custom roms that I figured I'd give it a try. This couldn't have been easier! I understand that the way to understand if the root was successful, I should have the "Superuser" app which I do! The whole process took maybe 5 minutes! Thank you for posting this!
Framaroot has never failed for me with rooting my i777. Maybe try an older version. Try v1.6.0 and see what ya get. That is the version that i currently have on my i777. And follow my same instructions in my previous post again with the 1.6.0 version.I also have an AT&T i777 on stock 4.1.2 that I'm trying to root. Is there anything else I can try?
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks a ton, 1.6.0 did the trick with Aragorn. I had tried the newest and I also tried one that I just randomly picked from somewhere in the middle, unfortunately I can't remember which version it was now, but neither one worked. 1.6.0 definitely worked though, and I can confirm that galaxsim unlock works as well on 4.1.2 AT&T i777.Framaroot has never failed for me with rooting my i777.
