Hi,
Is there a 'safe' way of flashing a radio? You have to be connected via fastboot but if your computer loses power midway through the flash will it just brick?

Are there any extra precautions to take? If you do screw up the flashing procedure, is it definitely a brick or can it be recovered?

And lastly, at what point can you lose power? e.g if it doesn't finish copying the radio, does it try and flash the incomplete file? If it copies and starts flashing but you lose power, is that a problem because the new radio has been copied to the device?

Just curious, thank you!

have your computer plugged in to the wall!

if it works properly, flashing a radio should not take very long at all though. i'm talking less than 60 seconds

but in the end i guess it IS a risky operation so there's no real safe way. read up on it before you decide to do anything

Yesterday I was in the Same Position like you. A very thrilling Operation :) But everything went fine. Normaly, the power supply should not brick. Maybe, don't do this while a thunderstorm is going on outside :) Do you have a Laptop or so? Then you're independent.

I'd say the most safe way is flashing via PD98IMG.zip.
You can easily pack your own with the desired radio.img if not already exisiting.
Check md5sum of the copied file on the sd and its about 99% safe :D
