[Q] Safestrap Error Flashing

Hey everyone,

I'm having issues flashing ROMs....I flashed alliance v6 and everything was fine and dandy. I wanted to change to ThunderKat...I reboot, wiped wiped wiped and advanced wiped, and when I go to install the zip file has a little white icon to the left of it as if it doesn't recognize the type of file, and I flash anyways. Well it takes 3-4 mins to return a "Error flashing". I tried flashing alliance v4 and same thing. I tried using ROM customizer and flash from internal sd and I can't find my zip files anywhere! I go to root browser using Customizer and I can see my zip files. I clicked explore zip and it's empty but the details show that ThunderKat is 879mb and alliance v4 is 1.76GB. ..so there is something there....

Any one help?! I'm very confused as to what exactly is going on.

I also uninstalled safestrap via app and reinstalled it (3.75 this whole time) and still nothing. I don't get how I flashed alliance v6 okay and now I can't flash anything!

Are you on NC2 modem? For DynamicKat its NC2 based and if you're not on NC2 that would be why you're getting a error and same for Alliance v4 its a NF4 base so therefore you need the NF4 Modem.

You need to be on kk first to boot up those kk roms youre trying to flash.

I am on 4.4.2

It was late one night and I did all this....noticed I downloaded 3.75 safestrap and flashed v6.....which is not kk.

I used to be in this rooting and flashing back when I had an original note when it came out. Totally forgot about modem...I checked it and I'm NC2...I could understand Alliance V4 not working but why not ThunderKat?

Can you post a screenshot of your about device if you dont mind? I dont understand cuz you said you flashed alliance v6 which is a jb rom and you say youre on 4.4.2. Youre also using ss 3.75 which is for kk.

Yeah its confusing. Last time I flash late night...

I restored back to stock via safe strap. So my about device is back to stock w/ root. But yeah that night I downloaded 3.75 SS, flashed v6 Alliance and was wondering the next day why the Internet would load slow, buttons on drop down would not highlights if I pressed them (couldn't tell what was on and what was not) and other issues. After investigating I realized what I had done and tried flashing ThunderKat. My original post is where I was at after trying ThunderKat.

I figured it out! Well not really. I flashed a NF4 modem via SS and again I got a failed flash. Tried it two more times and it finally flashed:laugh: I flashed v4 and it failed. Tried it again and it went through! About to wipe wipe wipe, flash NC2, and try ThunderKat.

Thanks everyone for your support and help. Modem was a great starting point. After being here for 2yrs or so, maybe it's time I participate a little in these forums. Thanks guys!
