[Q] Samsung Account - date of the welcoming 'Notice'?

Hi,

I was browsing my GT10.1 account on account.samsung.com and I clicked on "Notice".

There, I only have one notice "Welcome to Samsung account" which dates earlier than my purchase date!

Is this normal? or does it mean that my tab was used/registered before I purchased it?

I guess this notice date should match the date I purchased/registered my device.

I think I observed the same message. The related question I have is if I don't use any of the Samsung hub apps, is there any value to even having a Samsung account? Is there anything that I will miss out on? btw, my guess is no.

You need your Samsung Account if you need to wipe your device in case you lost it.

I forgot that I did set that up with the original device! I never set it up again after the last botched software upgrade.

I am using AVG anti-virus, it offers the same functionality for free also. Lookout also has it, but you need to subscribe.

You won't get OTA updates if you don't add Samsung account in the tab.

So guys what do you think of the initial question?

Is it normal that the "Welcome" message in my 'Notice' section was received before I got my tab? [I created my account on Oct 21, and the welcome message dates Oct 6!]

Do you have a similar message as far as date is concerned?
