Just FYI, if Google Drive doesn't work out you can try MediaFire (ridiculous amounts of storage with that and AFAIK no download or upload limit, I've never had a problem with it) or Copy, another great service.

Mega.co.nz is fantastic for storing/uploading/downloading huge files as well, and you get 50 GB free. Really has great functionality and interface. If you can look beyond who's running it...

I'm guessing that's the owner of the Megaupload series of websites?

The ones that were shut down?
Yeah, no thanks lol.

Yep. I wouldn't store any personal files there, but it IS an awesome storage site. The speeds are amazing and there are no ads or anything annoying like that. Way better than mediafire. Megaupload got shut down because it shared a lot of illegal files. No different than any other free storage site like mediafire.

Have you actually checked it out? Or are you just dismissing it on the basis of megaupload?

Already tried, they cut my links in about 15min because of too much traffic...
They don't tell you the limits but there are, believe me !

Anyway Google will do the job now !

Step 3 isn't necessary, Australia is only needed for the BaseBand, install stock on step 1 but skip step 3 and go directly to CM11...
Having a deodexed/rooted australia before CM11 won't change a thing, correct me if i'm wrong but i believe so...

Yes,you are completely right,i just wrote what i did,and i did that, only to make sure everything gonna work ok with new rom,but that step is not necessary, but anyway i see no reason for freezing while installing deodexed/rooted australia rom...
P.S I hope you will upload new download links soon... :)

Ok,then i will write a more simple instructions,on suggestion of @daver18qc.. :)
1.Install Australia MH3 stock rom with Odin
2.Download Root Kit and follow instructions inside (follow it carefully from beginning to the end)
3.Open cwm recovery and Wipe data/cache,and also wipe dalvik cache
4.Install CyanogenMod 11
5.Install 4.4 Gapps
6.(optional) Install ba2x kernel for CyanogenMod 11
7.Reboot and enjoy... ;)
Note that first boot will take a while,so leave it for ~10mins

wait a second does this mean i can install KK on this motherlover of a phone? nothing but headaches its given me, especially with the no App2SD! how do you guys think i should deal with that? i mean the internal space gets filled right away and sd swap apps are confusing, and the swapsd script i was using has to be ran every time i reboot so what do i need to do here? i have to re-do the phone for my old lady.

Link2SD. It's easy-peasy to get working, just partition your MicroSD depending on how much you want for apps vs media. Typically 1 GB will do. I recommend using a Linux distro to do the partitioning, as you want the 1 GB to be of the ext4 format, which Windows has no support for by default. I'm sure there are programs that allow you to do this on Windows. I've just never used them.
After you've done that (with the rest of the card in FAT32 format), install Link2SD (make sure root is working!) then select ext4. It will create the mount points then reboot your phone. After that just move your apps over! You can also enable automatic moving of newly installed apps.

As far as i know,4.0.4 and CM 10.2 are discontinued, from now on,he is only working on CM 11 and kernel for CM11...And also wifi is a known problem on some overclocked kernels...

I know the reason Wifi is not working for some people, it is because of the kernel updates to 3.0.22. I reverted the CM11 kernels to 3.0.8, and I could make them for CM10.2 if I get around to it, but stock will be left the way they are because I'd have to recompile 16 kernels and set up a new build environment.

I just removed some things from the problems list in my signature, one reason was to save space (character limit), but the other reason because they are either CyanogenMod problems (chromium webview does not work on every device, CyanogenMod is working on it) or they are not device-specific. (data usage and youtube problems I have seen in otherwise fully functional ROMs for other devices) These problems will not be fixed by me, they are mostly due to the fact that we are using some ICS-Samsung files on a KK-AOSP ROM, which will cause problems. The chromium on KK will be fixed by CyanogenMod eventually which will also fix screenshots and recent app previews, and the data usage is out of my control. I know it is important to some, but for now it will be there forever unless somehow Samsung releases a JB or KK update with files more compatible with KK. If you really want to watch youtube full quality, there are alternate video apps or web broswers to use. Just wanted to post so people don't think these are fixed.

Edit: Oh yeah, and now that I don't need to worry about these, I can start working on the main issues. Off-mode charging may finally be working in the next release! FM radio will come when CyanogenMod implements it, and that only leaves the bluetooth and camera!

Yeah, I use Firefox along with Flash Player to watch YouTube videos in high quality. Performance is not the best, but it's not the worst either.

Does that include the black screen on the Google Search app (and Flipboard)?

If you use chrome and the mobile youtube website it's just like watching from gallery. At least, it should be, that's what I did in CM10.2 but with stock browser. I haven't tried chrome yet.

I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow, so I won't be able to provide you guys with a build of OmniROM 5.0 before the end of the year. I would love to just release the alpha build out into the wild, but literally nothing is working (no audio, no WiFi, some force closes) so I would rather wait until I fix up a few of the issues. Fortunately, I do have a bit of a treat for you. I have a near-perfect build of OmniROM 4.4.4 for you. By near-perfect, I mean that everything is working except for Bluetooth, full camera resolution, and rendering images in native Chromium webview. Everything else should be working. I don't think that there are any other significant changes in this build compared to the previous one I uploaded back in October. If I have time to work on OmniROM 4.4.4 in the coming new year though, I will try to get things working nicely with ION. For now, you can download the new build of OmniROM 4.4.4 here. Happy holidays and have a great new year! Long live the Ace II X!

How to root the GT-S7560 Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 X

Okay so I rooted the GT-S7560 or the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 X using the Duos method mentioned in this thread. This phone is showing up everywhere in Canada right now through the usual channels and I wanted to clarify the process a bit for others who stumble upon this thread. I have attached a zip file containing the files I used and a word doc with instructions. It's the same as the Galaxy Duos except for entering recovery I could not figure out the button configuration to do it so I used ADB and sent the reboot recovery command. I later learned the vol button is a rocker and to press the center of the vol button the power and home all at the same time to enter recovery.

I seek no credit, just trying to make it easier for the next.

I have tested root on a couple of apps and everything seems to working great with no issues.

    BA2X 2.0 release 2!

There comes a time, when people still on stock, are left out on the awesomeness of a slightly newer kernel version. Luckily, BA2X 2.0 has come to the rescue - it's been patched up to Linux kernel version 3.0.31, so it's consistent with CM. I've decided to make the default max frequency set as 1152 MHz, just because I don't feel like making custom frequencies for many different people. I think the most common wall that people hit with CPU frequencies is 1200 MHz, so I've lowered it just a smidge before that. If anyone faces any problems, let me know. I'll be uploading the updated sources to Github shortly, so you can indulge in them if you're that type of person. Besides a newer kernel version, there are a few other little changes to bring it more in line with the CM10.2 version of BA2X 2.0. Most notably, the GPU has been given the overclock treatment - there are 3 GPU frequencies for the system to throttle through - 100 MHz, 200 MHz, and 300 MHz. Battery life shouldn't be too bad, in fact it should/might be a bit better. You can download BA2X 2.0_r2 here. And if you don't like it, you can uninstall it using this flashable zip. The uninstall package installs the stock kernel and modules from the latest Canadian 'NA5 firmware so if you are having any issues even after installing the uninstall package, take the appropriate boot.img and /system/lib/modules folder from a ROM that works fine for you.

I don't know why, but I seem to only get AnTuTu benchmark scores of around 4700. It might be because I lowered the minimum GPU clock speed to 100 MHz. Or it might just be that I have too many resource-hogging apps installed :p Just for safe-keeping, you can download the previous release of BA2X 2.0 here. Can someone post their AnTuTu scores on BA2X 2.0_r2?

The next release of BA2X 2.0 will probably include something drastic new change, in a good way, because I cannot think of any other little modifications to do to the kernel source, so I'll have to try some bigger things. I don't want to be a downer if I can't deliver but personally, I wouldn't mind BLN, user-definable GPU clocking, f2fs support, and another kernel version upgrade would be nice too. I'll try my best when the time comes, and I'll see what I can whip up to make an Even Better Ace 2 X kernel... :D

EDIT - The above download link is for BA2X 2.0_r2 with a maximum clock of 1152 MHz. Other frequencies can be downloaded below:
    1114 MHz
    1209 MHz
    1267 MHz
    1305 MHz
    19
    BA2X 2.0_r1

The time has come... for the successor of SeannyM's BA2X kernels! BA2X 2.0 is based off of SeannyM's BA2X source, which is in turn based off of stock source, so BA2X 2.0 is like the grandchild of Grandpa Sammy. Don't know why, but I feel the need to keep that last sentence. Anyways, included in BA2X 2.0 is the following:
    • More CPU governors and schedulers
      - Added SavagedZen, InteractiveX, lulzactive governors
      - Added deadline scheduler (it was actually disabled in the kernel source, so I enabled it)
    • Disabled Loadable Kernel Module Authentication (lkmauth)
    • Frandom entropy generator module enabled on boot (in init.rc)
    • Vsync enabled (in init.rc)
    • USB Mass Storage enabled
    • Built with Sabermod 4.7.4 GCC toolchain = super smooth w. optimization
You can download it here. I've only made a version clocked at 1.21 GHz for now because I think that's before the "wall" that most people hit. You may request an alternate frequency, but I may only make it for you when I have time (I won't go out of my way unless you're requesting a lower frequency because your device won't boot with this frequency). Happy holidays! BTW, Mod Pack II X v0.6.2 is out now too! I suppose I'm going to take up BA2X as a new project for this device alongside Mod Pack II X. I've got plenty more to do for both, and I think I might try building some ROMs in the new year...

NOTE: THE DOWNLOAD LINK ABOVE IS FOR STOCK ROM. IF YOU WISH TO USE BA2X 2.0 FOR CYANOGENMOD (10.2/11 and maybe 10.1), DOWNLOAD THIS PACKAGE AND INSTALL IT VIA CWM.

EDIT - I will put up a link for BA2X 2.0 for CM as soon as I get to making a working one, which requires that I find a suitable toolchain version. I'm a human being, so don't expect me to feel like pumping out stuff all the time.
