No offence, but you didn't really answer my questions? Not trying to be rude. Heh. I'm asking how to do it, and from what I've read - rooting a Note 2 on Kitkat as mine is is impossible? How do I root it to change the bands to get 4G LTE? Also,

Why can't I access my voicemail???
You can't root if you took the OTA. So you are stuck using what you have.

Not sure about the voicemail thing.. What do you mean you can't access it? You said:
I have to dial the number and input her password to do so!
What are you expecting to do? Dial #1?
That wont work anymore. So just save the number you have above and save it as a contact name "voicemail"..

Also the numbers to edit the preferred network is *#*#4636#*#*

The *#*#4636 thing doesn't work. Doesn't it have to be rooted to use that? Also, is there ANY WAY possible AT ALL to get 4G LTE on this thing? I try to select LTE/CDMA on the network, but it just blocks it. (/) thing. I only have 3g and HSPA+ right now. :( My father has a NOTE 2 as well through T-Mobile, but he has the T-Mobile version, where as I have this seemingly POS Verizon version.,

No I don't believe it has to be rooted for that menu to work..but could be wrong BC I have never had a un rooted phone =)
Not sure about the LTE man. Your selecting the wrong network if you are selecting LTE/CDMA BC you have a GSM Sim in....
The phone is not a pos.. That a little over exaggerated. It is a true global phone..just you are stuck with not be able to root it at the moment. I'm sure when the a new Samsung device gets released, like the note 4, someone will find a root method and I am almost positive it will work for ND7. Samsung implemented Knox 2.0 and some tidbits in the kernel on KK. So that's what is screwing everyone at the moment

The string of numbers doesn't work. Would there be others for my phone? What are they called and how do I figure out what they are? Maybe the phone DOES have to be rooted? Gargh. >__<

duetips(.com)/2014/06/root-i605vrufnd7-on-verizon-galaxy-note.html

(sorry had to post link this way cause I'm new and won't allow links from noobs to prevent spam. I AM NOT SPAMMING THIS)

Can anyone confirm this? AND if so, does this "wipe" / hard reset the device?

Please advise...

Thank You!

No, does not work. Tried many times even before reading that. You just get a write fail for any recovery, system, data, and probably other partitions once your bootloader is locked. (Hope it is not against the rules to share my opinion that this sort of behavior by device makers or carriers should be criminalized.)

Your a little misinformed

It has nothing to do with Verizon. It's all samsung

Thats not true Verizon forces this on Samsung, that's why you can still root Att and sprint note2 with cf on kitkat but not Verizon....Samsung may write the programs but they have to meet their clients requirements.

Like I said before..
The wait will be over once the Verizon Note 4 is out. Someone will focus on rooting it and the same method will more than likely work on this phone.. patience..

Will the fact that the Note 2 has Exynos and the Note 4 will have a Snapdragon processor matter?

Hope this doesn't break the 'self-promoting' rule -- I don't mean for it to -- but I got a working root method posted in the General forum using the CVE-2014-3153 exploit, same one towelroot uses (just needed a few adjustments). I'm the only one who has tested it so far, to my knowledge, but it works for me.

I have spoken to Verizon directly and it is Verizon that enforces the locked bootloader. I posted this info on one of the VZW Foirums and got banned....They dont like people knowing that they are the enforcers. Samsung has nothing to do with it. Ever notice KIES doesnt work for your VZW i605....Same deal.

Please don't forgot

Oh great software developers!
Please don't forget about us poor Verizon Note 2 users.
Bless us with root, that we me hack our phones...
If you do this, I shall believe
And verily I say until you, I shall donate
