Hey, thought this was worth mentioning, take a look at the Trident Kraken cases for the incredible. I'm between getting the rugged or a kraken at the moment. Both protect the phone pretty good, both about the same price. Maybe the kraken is a little cheaper. Also, both come with screen protectors.
Thought I'd bring that to the table. Been doing some flee-bay browsing and came across another tough case.

I have to be honest, I have used the first layer of this case, innocase II, more than the three layers as a whole. The innocase is a nice sleek protective case that slides in and out of my front pocket easily. I guess it has been hard for me to get use to carrying my inc on my hip again after carrying in my pocket for a while.
I have dropped my Inc a couple of times with the innocase only on. It was dropped from a standing position, one time dropped from the seat of my truck (lifted 4x4) to pavement, No damage to my phone at all. And the case doesn't show damage much at all, either.
The screen protector seems to scratch fairly easy, though. I have a lot of micro scratches on the screen protector on the bottom half of the screen area. This is due to my hands being somewhat rough, as I am a contractor.
So, in review, the rugged case is worth purchasing if you like to wear yours on your hip. It is extremely tough and durable. Or even if you don't carry on hip but need the most protection possible. I would have been happy with just the innocase II, which protects the Inc enough for me while still being pocketable.

Have to second this... I'm using the Trident Kraken and I think its a great case for the price. It does attract a lot of lint though and is sometimes hard to get out of my pocket. I like the added bulk that it gives to the inc aswell, makes the phone much easier to handle for me.

Ya definitely going with the seidio rugged case setup. I can do without the belt clip attachment though. I can see that breaking off within a week at work with me. But the rest of the case(s) are just what I'm looking for.
I can vouch for the belt clip breaking off. Had mine maybe two weeks before it snapped at work. But as for the rugged case itself, I love it and have never regretted buying it for a second. Excellent product.

Just got in my Kraken, and its great. However, I agree its a lint monster. Also the notification bar is really difficult to pull down, so I just use a swipe gesture. The Kraken attracts a lot of attention because of its looks, which is always fun for a geeky ROM addict like me.

As a construction worker, I was about to buy an Otterbox before stumbling upon this thread. Did some research, looked at a few videos, and I think I'm gonna settle for the Seidio now. Either way, both look like great cases and I couldn't go wrong with either. The Seidio on the other hand converts to a normal case when not on the job site, so that's where it wins IMO. Also, the belt clip looks better designed. Thanks XDA! You guys rule! :D
So I just wanted to update.. I ended up purchasing the Seidio Rugged on the 12th of February. I was quite disappointed in the shipping time. I never received the case until today. Usually, I receive mail from the US within 10 days, quite often less.

As far the case goes, I love it. Great quality! Rather than use the included screen protector, I am using the Zagg InvisibleShield. Works perfectly with the Seidio. This is the best possible combo, IMHO.

I have the Otterbox case and I'm fairly disappointed in it. The outer rubber case doesn't seem like it fits perfectly on the inner plasticy part, and the clear plastic part that goes over the screen makes the touch screen a lot less responsive. I was happy with the Otterbox commuter case I have on a Droid X, but the Defender case for the the Incredible leaves a lot to be desired IMO.

I'm going to check out the Seido case mentioned now.

I've had a lot of quality issues with Siedio... I just had the rubber on my active rip after 6 months and they can not replace because it's out of warranty.

Going to Otterbox, never had these issues with them.

I have the Otterbox Commuter case for the Incredible. It has been installed since November. After 5 months of use it has developed a few problems.

The rubber bumper is starting to stretch and push it's way out of the hard case. I take it off about once a week to clean all the lint and what not. It does not fit as snug as it did when first installed.

The plug for the micro usb port does not fit as snug as it did either. Probably from constant use from charging and tethering to the laptop. That is also the area where the rubber bumper raises up the most above the screen.

It is the one area where there is very little rubber. I have contacted Otterbox about replacing the the inner section. Still awaiting a response.

Although the case a few small issues, I really like the Otterbox.

Are either of these options water (read:baby drool) resistant? My baby girl loves to snag her a fancy cellphone and promptly gnaw, bang, investigate, and make emergency calls (much to my embarrassment) I know that these cases will help with the banging issue, which is one of my bigger concerns, but if my girlie could gnaw and drool on the phone and not have it worse for wear, I might consider handing it to her while Zoodles (baby app) is enabled, and go on with my day having one less worry...

Just a quick update on the otterbox. I contacted their customer service via email and they are going to send me a replacement free if charge. They were very quick to respond and helpful in every way.

Great customer service in my book. If and when I upgrade my phone I will be purchasing an otterbox for that model also.

I've had my Defender case for two days now and I'm probably taking it back. It's a great case, though if you have huge fingers like me the raised "lip" around the screen makes pulling down the status bar n playing a word on the sides of the Wordfeud board.(i love me some Wordfued lol). It's a great case overall, but don't expect to reach the edges of the screen comfortably.

I have had the Otterbox commuter case since christmas and I absolutely love it. it slips easily in out of my pocket, doesn't get hung up. i have larger fingers also, so the added bulk this case adds is perfect, makes the phone much easier to handle in my opinion. Very impressed by the fit and protection, and for $25 shipped on amazon, i would highly recommend it.

I picked up the the Otterbox Defender case last week and so far I'm very happy with it. My only nitpick has to be on the inner plastic case as I think they could have done a better job making it lock into place. Other than that the case feels rock solid and was really well designed. The screen is very responsive through the screen protector.

I'm using the seidio rugged, and love it! I really like having the hard exoskeleton and hard suface with a shock absorbing (and energy spreading) thick rubber middle.

For those still trying to decide, Best Buy sells the Seidio Cases under the brand name 'Pt'. You can go to a Best Buy store and check out the seidio rugged, and not have to wait for shipping.

I agree, I love the Seidio Rugged. I think the fit and finish are better than the Otterbox, and I like the "spine" which keeps the rubber from stretching out or getting loose. I don't use the belt clip but if I did I couldn't imagine a better one (when it's locked you'd probably have to break it to get the phone out, and the screen faces in). Plus if you don't need all that protection you have the Innocase underneath, which you can use by it's self. If there is a place Otterbox has them beat it probably is customer service, I've heard they're great.
