Depends on which version of sense you are talking about. Sense 3.6 gives me better battery life than any other. On aosp i get about 10-13 hours of battery. Sense 4.0/4.1 i get about 5-9 hours. On sense 3.6 i get about 15-20 hours. This is all on moderate use. I have an anker 1900mAh battery.

Stock Sensation battery, 4.1 sense, 24-26 hours, 2-4 hour screen on time. As you see, it depends on so many things what battery life you will get. The best is if you tried by yourself. Battery life can be rom/kernel/usage...etc related. Go and give them a try I would suggest.

In my experience aosp ROMS have had better battery life especially ones that were based ones sense like 'virtuous inquisition' sadly its not been up dated for like a year now and ive used it as a daily driver for months with 0 issues, but if you like the sense look just use ARHD 6.8 (sense 3.6) for awesome battery life and if you use faux123 kernal and under volt it you can pull out two days without having to charge

I'm a power user who requires speed and stability. Running bruces CM10 as a daily driver with Tamcore's kernel with badass 192-1566mhz with battery saving settings flashed. I get 4 hours minimum onscreen a day with 512mb hardswap.

Tamcore Kernel is the default kernel or must be downloaded separately?

Sultanxda 4.4.2 ION Rom I get about 12 hours with 3-4 hours of screen time, and constantly checking my phone for emails, Google Voice messages, and about 30 minutes of talk time. Not great since I have to charge it at least once a day. But if I decrease my screen time to 1-2 hours, then it can last about 16 hours.

With this ROM I've 12 hours stand by and one hour of screen on. Incredible difference

Have you try changing battery? Maybe your battery has gone bad. I recently changed my Anker to another Anker after two years and five months of use. The new Anker helped stabilize battery drainage and time.
