I am on Tmo now and WANT the Vibrant. My Nexus One is my daily driver but always want the new hotness. But I feel I may be screwing myself out of phones just a few months away. Dual core phones with the bleeding edge are more my thing and stock Android is also what I prefer.

Maybe you can sway me??

Then when dual core comes and you almost buy it, there will be something better... its a non stop cycle, hell you may even be dead by then, buy it now and enjoy it .

I love my vibrant over my nexus one day, especially games

I'm not so much a gamer. Maybe I could be. Just all the talk about these near releases is keeping me from hitting purchase... Nexus was a no brainer at the time, it was the best (only 8 months ago) but they all are so close now.

with how android phones have progressed in the last 6 months, there will always be the greatest new supposed phone just around the corner. If one is available that you are happy with and is up to date with hardware, get it. Right now, besides the gps issue of course, the Vibrant is at the top of the list. hopefully Froyo and gps fix will keep it on top for a little while (sept hopefully)

the vibrant is awesome now, and once we get 2.2 froyo its going to be even better. get the vibrant, you wont regret it. and hell if in 6 months a better phone comes out and you like it. get that too.

My concern is T-Mobile 3G speeds.....In Chicago we are seeing just 1 mb/sec down, and that doesn't compare to the captivate getting over 3 mb/sec.....Is T-Mobile going crank up the speed on non hspa+ 3G phones? Will T-Mobile be competative with the Galaxy S phones?

I am just curious what you are doing on your phone that makes you so concerned about speed...other than just liking everything maxed out.

Download apps. View Web Pages. Tether. Mindyabusiness.

Sorry, I bet you use 56k and have a flip phone. Don't try to act cool and enlightened, like you know something about not wanting the best while falling into the same trap.

I don't know about Chicago, but in the suburban Philly / NJ area I get 3-4 mbs routinely.

sent from my Vibrant.

With that mentality you will never upgrade :D - get the Vibrant for a penny, in two years there def be better phones, but right now and probably for the rest of the year Galaxy S line will remain the top contender on the market.
