How do I check GSM signal strength?

Tried lots of apps/widgets to no avail: most of them show steady -113 dBm, others say 85(RSSI?), no matter where I am. I've also tried *#*#4636#*#* >> Phone information and it says 0 dBm, 0 asu! :(

BTW, I'm on KG7/KG4/KG6 (2.3.4).

Any clue?

TIA

Seems SGS2 has an initialization prob. :(
What's that all about then? I've been in the SGS2 Q&A, Dev and General forums and although i've not really looked about the issue regarding Widgets and the lack of reporting capability i've never stumbled across a problem/solution thread either.

The fact I have a HD2 running Typhoon where everything works means I don't really care if the SGS2 works or not, as it is in fact just my pretty 'second phone' for showing off.

Ha! Shame on me! :(

Thanks a bunch for recalling that native option! ;)

BTW, it's worthwhile to say all apps/widgets work like a charm, including *#*#4636#*#*, after getting in there! Seems SGS2 has an initialization prob. :(
Yep, that's odd, well the good thing is that it's working now. Is there an app that shows a graph of the signal over time?

No Signal Strength on Galaxy SII

Hi all,

I am the developer from the app "Network Signal Info" and I know this problem.

Short summary from devices:
Samsung Galaxy SI -> no problems
Samsung Galaxy SII -> no strength and no refresh
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 -> no strength and no refresh
Samsung Galaxy Note -> no strength and no refresh
(Android Versions: 2.3.3, 2.3.4, 2.3.5, 3.1)

But I think not all devices from a series are affected. But I don´t know which and why.

I have contacted samsung, but I wait for an answer.

Hope I find a solution ...

This is indeed a serious issue, that doesn't look to be resolved anytime soon.
Please see the following threads:

It seem more likely to have something to do with the radio firmware. Probably the underlying closed source Broadcom junk is causing trouble. However, CyanogenMod7 ROMs seem to work! I would love to know the radio FW differences in CyanogenMod vs stock. Please post if you know something!
