Hey, I'm new to all this, but i'm interested in creating a Splash1 screen.

How do you open an .IMG file?

What is all included in the file?

Second of all, that doesn't exactly tell how to open an .img file for editing.

Try reading this one. In order to read the img, you reversed the process used to create the img as per the link I just gave above.
