I'm having a strange issue with my HOX+. The range at which it reads tags is very little. To read a NFC card I have to touch it on the back of the phone with the case off, and I have to hold the card in a certain position (action surface on the back is small, too).
I tried transferring a webpage, contact and photo from a Nexus 7 tablet. The tablet reacts when touching the device but the selection popup disappears quickly. I tried this while setting Android Beam on the Nexus 7 to both on and off, same result. The HOX+ is international.
Is the NFC in the battery, should I replace that?
My software versions are as follows:
ROM: stock 4.2.2 (Sense 5)
Software number: 2.18.401.2
SDK API level: 5.41
Kernel: 3.1.10-g7f360be [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT.
Baseband: 3.1204.171.33
Build number: 2.18.401.2.CL231174 release-keys
Edit: Also tried today with a Galaxy S3 LTE (I9305), with S-Beam both on and off, absolutely no reaction from the HOX+
