[Q] Smartwatch and operator firmware

Hi everybody,

I'll want to buy a smartwatch 3 to associate it with my Xperia Z3.
I have a question :
if I buy a watch in a store of a mobile operator, Is that the device has an overlay operator ?

For example :
I'm in Free mobile with a unbrand Xperia Z3 and i want to buy a smartchwatch 3 in Orange Telecom.
do the 2 devices will be able to connect ?

It doesn't matter what operator or Android variant you're on when connecting to any SmartWatch as long as the core android version (4.2 etc) matches the specs for the watch.
