[Q] SMS Backup (Lumia 800)

Hey guys,

I currently have a "@gmail.com" Microsoft-Account and I would like to change that to a "@outlook.com" Account. For that reason, I have to reset my Lumia 800, because you can't change the mail address of the Microsoft Account, that is linked to Windows Phone, on the phone. I have no problem with resetting my phone, I just want to keep my texts.

Is there a way of just backing up your texts and then restoring it on the "fresh phone"? My phone is developer unlocked:

"@gmail.com" Microsoft-Account...................I didn't know Microsoft bought gmail from Google! Some people are great. Please dude check what you wrote, you can't have a @gmail microsoft account, gmail owns to Google not to Microsoft!

Please dude check what I wrote. It seems that you didn't understand my problem. You can register for a Microsoft account with any email address you want. And I registered years ago with my gmail address. Of course Microsoft didn't buy Google, what do you think? Now I just want to change the primary email address of my Microsoft account from my gmail to my outlook account. But that is not the topic of that thread. Some people are great.

I guess the best thing would be to wait a bit more as the win 7.8 which is going to launched for lumia 800 would be having backup options which includes your sms.
But using that backup on a different live id is an entirely different question

PS: Even I am using my gmail id as my microsoft live id as I was not happy with their hotmail dont know how this outlook is
