Good luck!! It'll be worth waiting for, but I'd be wary of the 4.2.2 update! Lots having troubles with it in other threads. I have had nothing but grief on many devices ! Out of the box on 4.1.2 easily the best android phone I have ever owned (there have been many ) and I am not going to spoil it with 4.2.2

I'm holding out on 4.2.2 as well. I don't have any need for lock screen widgets, which to me is all 4.2.2 really adds that's of any significance. I agree with you that most of the time updates can be more trouble than they're worth. It's great to see Sony rolling them out at a faster pace now, though.

I recently ordered a new Xperia ZL directly from Sony. Model #C6506. I am sure it will be fully sealed, but will let you know.

Bought a white one from Amazon.de and whilst the box was sealed the unit itself was defective - the metal around the lens was chipped and the glass side near the camera button was cracked. I sent it back yesterday and will get a refund. When I booted it up, it went straight into the German menu without asking me to choose language.

Anyway, I ordered another ZL (this time black) as I saw a cracking deal on Amazon.it who were charging just €310! Price now back up to €499.

Okay my replacement handset arrived earlier today and this was definitely sealed. The handset was in perfect condition and on start-up there was the option to choose the language which wasn't there on my previous delivery.

It is the black model though and if I didn't get such a good deal on it, I would have gone for the white version. Despite this, it is a beautiful handset.I have the notification to upgrade to Android 4.2.2, but ignoring it for now given some of the bug issues being reported.

Bought mine direct from Rogers, than flashed mine with the generic 4.2.2 firmware to get rid of bloat.

Mine was not sealed.
