The main people who use roam only are those who have better Verizon than Sprint coverage. They flash a corporate prl and get full Verizon coverage. I don't believe you'll get lte with roam only on.

My Sprint service is moderate to poor. Loaded a corporate prl and use roam only in vipers Rom and have excellent service now. Still testing the waters with Sprint to see what I can get away with without getting into roaming issues. Using maybe 50/50 currently.

Hi,

I switched to sprint for the One (came from verizon). Absolutely fed up with not having service anywhere...am currently running viperrom.

I activated roam only, but I dont know where to get a corporate PRL for verizon... verizon has great service in my area and I'd like to keep my phone on verizons network.

Can anyone help me out?

Thank you very much

You will need your msl to change your prl though. Just goto sprints website and use the support chat applet and ask for you msl. If they wont give it to you just close the chat and redo it till one gives it to you. Then when you have your msl upload the prl of your choosing to your phone, goto the dialer and do ##778# and click edit mode, enter your six digit msl number. Go down to PRL and click update prl and browse to where you saved the prl on your phone, save, commit modifications then it will reboot.

Note that Sprint only allows upto 300mb of roaming data before they can do something about it. Not saying they will but they may call you if you use a lot of data roaming in a couple months and say they are gonna let you out of your contract with no early termination fee. Supposedly they will contact you sooner then later if you use a lot of voice minutes roaming, sooner then say using a lot of data. A lot of people do a ton of data roaming on purpose just to get out of their contracts free and clear :p

If this is true wouldn't the device have a bad esn?

No, they just decide to part ways cause they arent making enough money off you when you whore data roaming :D There are many threads with people doing this, havent heard of them blacklisting the esn.

Will this work on stock rooted Sense? I also have roam control installed. I tried ##778# and couldn't get the option to load.

on viper rom u can get lte and roam at the same time
your roaming on voice, the lte is coming from sprint. No sprint devices can "roam" on any other carriers lte network as the radios are not made for that. Its like trying to pick up a radio station when your tuned in to say 106.3 but your wanting to pick up 94.7 while on 106.3 its just not going to happen

So it appears we can no longer use RC on multiple devices with the same activation code.
They are offering RC for $1.00 for a short time so jump on it :D
I have it installed on my HTC Evo LTE and my HTC One

I just used the 1.4 version that is floating around here. It works on data but the speeds are not great at my house so I want to force it to Verizon.
Yeah, I got impatient and installed Viper and a custom PRL. All dandy now...
If you are running ViperRom there is no need for roam control app in case you didn't know

##778# Does Nothing

Hi all,

Although I've rooted and ROM numerous phones in the past, I'd prefer a solution I can help others with without doing the root/ROM dance. ##778# doesn't do anything on my Sprint HTC One. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
