So I wanted to ask this question on the actual forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204963&page=36 , but my status as a noob on XDA has prohibited me from doing so.
In the discussion on that forum, Zojak and N_otori0us_ discuss possible ways of overcoming the headphone overheating issue.

and N_otori0us_ repliedAfter reading some other threads I've installed the older coderz 3.0.64 kernel and my device no longer heats up with headphones plugged in. It does however no longer wake up when pressing the touch pad. Small price to pay I suppose.
My question is, has this fix worked for anyone else? Does it break anything?I have trackpad wakes. None are made by me, I just found them along the forums.

Try that, flash it through recovery.
I also found a tp wake for sense 4.0 roms. And yay Dev Host is working now!
