[edit: fixed the issue - Found a gingerbread Odin that detected the phone when in download mode]

Hi team,

I'm kind of new at this, but feel like I've tried everything.

The situation:

I currently have ICS installed on my Captivate.
I want to revert to gingerbread or froyo or any other rom, but I cant.

Issue:
No version of Odin will recognise my phone when I plug it in.
I can detect it when I do an 'adb devices' command in sdk, and when I mount it via CWM in recovery mode I can access the internal SD, but thats as far as it goes.

I've tried reinstalling the drivers, drivers for similar phone models, reinstalling kies, uninstalling kies, nothing seems to work.

I think part of the issue is that I have a mixture of i9000 and i987 firmware, so none of the drivers will work properly. I cant flash a new kernel because I cant get my computer/odin to recognise the phone. Even when I use mobile Odin it says that its not compatible with the partition on my internal SD.

All I really want to do is revert back to a working version of android, as I'm having a bunch of issues with ICS that I dont want to get in to now. (And for some reason none of the fixes work on this setup)

So I was wondering:

  1. Does anyone know of a way to flash everything back to stock, kernel, rom everything via command prompt or by loading a file onto the phone via CWM bootloader?
  2. Alternatively - is there a way to re-partition the SD so that I can use mobileOdin?
  3. Is there anything else I can try? I have a feeling I've forgotten something obvious...

I've spent the better part of the last 2 days on it, so theres probably info I've forgotten to include.
See attachment for kernel, build etc.

I still have root access at least
