Hi All,

Just wanted to let you, after trying everything, now i have finally sent it to the sony service center in US. Since I live in Bangladesh, It would take quiet sometime for the tab to reach there, then to get fixed and finally to come back to me.

In the mean time, I have bought myself The New IPAD, 65GB. Loving IT !! :)

Thank You Guys for all your help and support. I will definitely come back here and give u all the update as in to what happed with the Sony Tablet S gets back

Till then.

Take Care.

Same issue here, have thoughts as to why it could have happened.

I own this tablet since November, had some Wi-Fi issues, occasionally wouldn't turn on without reset. Bearable.

Yesterday I left it charging on my bed and fell asleep. When I woke up, the power connector cord was bent to the side a little bit. I supposed it might have shorted the circuit.

Right now I have tried factory resetting from boot menu, it worked from the third time, but now all I get is booting animation for the past 20 minutes. It seems that I'll have to send it to repairs as well. One thing for certain, thou, if tech support says they have to replace MB, it isn't always true.

Can anyone solve this case yet?
I have the same problem now.
Maybe already soft-brick.
Can't mount the system and sd card so can't use "adb shell".
Please help.
I don't have warranty anymore.
Sent it back to Sony Japan, they required " 21.000 yen " for repair service for replace motherboard.
But 21.800 yen, I can buy a new one.

You may have to wait for a later release and install that through recovery. It should not be too far away ICS R5a for US has been out for ages. I assume you have the JP tab S?

Yes, I have JP tablet S.
Reason I bricked is:
At the time tablet is stuck at boot.
I tried to install another rom, but maybe region not correct , it didn't success.
after that I tried to restore to factory setting in recovery ( press up volume + power ),
it ran forever, then I power off it and turn it again.
It was soft brick ^_^

now my problem is: It can't mount sd card and system, so It can't read my rom on sd card/
can't use "adb shell".
I wonder if Sony Tablet S has fastboot or something like that so I can install rom direct by adb ?

I am afraid my news are bad. They had to replace mine entirely. Even without the receipt, they relied on manufacturing date. I suggest you abandon it all together and get a nexus tab.

Best of luck

I have same problem after unlucky using of Pimp my Rom app. So, my tablet can mount sdcard and it can update from sd, but there is an error about verification base SKU. I tried launch an update of condi's hackrecovery.zip and it launches like under AiO's custom flash but I can't flash official update zip and custom zip. Did anybody solve the problem?

If you can access recovery menu vol up + power on. AND you were running HoneyComb (HC) before boot loop etc. Then you can fash Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). Yours is below under US in my signature link.

[....]

Download ^^^^^ and put on SD card and enter recovery mode and select this update.

Hi,

I put the respective file on my SD card. Unfortunately, the recovery process doesn´t "find" the file on my SD card. Do I have to unzip or rename it?

Thanks

So I have this problem too and I am so mad at Sony in general.
I bought the tablet in China and of course they won't take it for waranty in another country even if I bought it less than a year ago.

The main problem is that it is not possible to re-install any ROM since the recovery is also bugged and won't mount the SD card.

Here is what happened to me though: after leaving the tab asside for about 3 months with an empty battery, I decided to give it another shot and for some reason the recovery worked fine and I was able to flash a stock ROM successfuly!
I don't know if it's linked to the fact that the battery may have ran completely dry and it reset the motherboard or something else (had to set time after boot).

I rooted the tab and it worked fine for one day, after that I decided to flash again the ICS ROM and saddly it broke again.
Now I'm back to the start but with this additional clue. I will try to dismantle the tab and unplug the batterie to try this again..

I am having the same problem with my Sony S. except mine won't even go to the main screen, or turn off. My screen is grey. I am trying to let the battery drain, if there are any tips I would appreciate it. thank you
