[Q] Speed Dial

I know this probably sounds ridiculously idiotic but i never learned how to create speed dials like pressing 1 or 2 to call my mom etc. I am on CM6.1

how do i go about doing this?

d/l DialerOne (free app) from the market - only way I know of, in AOSP ROM's to enable speed dials.

Have to set it as default dialer, so if you are fond of ROM's 'native' dialer, this replaces it.

Once installed/set, speed dials are set within the context menu of the contact itself.

I've never run CM, so idk whether it may have a built-in means to speed dial.

Sense ROM's, of course, have a speed dial capability built in.
