My Star S7589 (MTK6589) is stuck in boot loop after using "LCD Density Modder" from the play store (I failed to read the poor reviews first).

The device is rooted but stock (recovery 3e) and I know the lcd density should be 320.

What tools do I need to get my device working again guys?

When I plug the phone to the pc (windows 8 64 bit) during the bootloop, the device manager shows it as an "android phone, android adb interface"

Ok, after doing a lot of reading, I used Android Commander to pull the build.prop and changed the LCD density from 240 back to 320, but when I try to push it back, it fails because root access is required (phone was originally rooted, but in my panic, I performed a full restore via recovery 3e and lost root).

I'm at a loss as to what to do now?

You need CWM AROMA file manager by Amarulz, and your default "build.prop" from your ROM (extract it to your sdcard)
-- Go to CWM, then install the AROMA file manager from your sdcard.
-- In aroma, copy the default "build.prop" from your sdcard to "root/system" paste it in here.. (overwrite)
-- then, exit the AROMA, and reboot the phone.

I hope it can help

Thanks for the tip. Looks like a very useful tool, but I think it requires CWM recovery, which I don't have.

If you know a way to install CWM recovery (keeping the rest of the Star S7589 phone stock), I'd love to try.

CWM is usually already present on all the android handsets.
Just need to know the right combination of buttons to access it.
Usually a combination of the volume min/max and power.
Try it for yourself to find it. :good:
