[Q] stock boot image

In looking for boot image for DNA Stock Rooted ROM v.1.15.605.4 710RD I was wondering if in general you can extract a boot image from any rom by unzipping it in windows? When unzipped an image file IS created as part of the file and appears to be correct size or is this a different image altogether?
