I've done endless searches for a ROM that is close to the stock gingerbread rom with A2SD and overclock.

I have only managed to find this:

This is great but I would like to squeeze more processing power out of my handset.

I've tried flashing the gingercakes kernel update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254272 which causes the handset not to boot and the ManU kernel update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883598, it boots but the wireless adapter fails to search for access points, possible kernel module issue which is out of my depth.

I did initally install the AceSMod007-3D ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223996 but found that any and all of the Sense 3.0+2.1 mix ROMs have a camera app that doesn't go to the album/gallery properly, so I can't see pics in grid view. The music app is unusable when the phone is held in landscape, I can't skip tracks or select songs individually in a playlist. This is my reasoning for wanting stock ROM, the sense 3.5 ROMs look good but I won't be delving into that until the bugs get ironed out.

Any and all help would be most appreciated, I understand that there may be a learning curve involved as I may have to create my own custom ROM.

At which point in the past did it occur like a good idea to flash an aosp kernel on top of a Sense rom? I'm afraid I have to advise against creating a custom rom at this time. Truth is dsixda's kitchen enables even the worst of the simpletons to do that, but you don't know even the most fundamental basics.
