The old f..king 4gb total storage only is come back at both 4.2 ROM
Is there any patch we can make to map the storage just like the 4.1 ROM?

I am the developer of My Android 4.2. As you can see I am from Taiwan so most umts_everest here have the same problem. I am currently trying to fix the issue but I have no umts_everest for testing. If you can help me to test maybe I can fix the issue.

Mine is the same with EOS 4. Apart from the 4gb problem the ROM works really well, and works with my multimedia dock.

I have made an entry in the developers forum. If they can fix it in EOS 3 then I have confidence they will do it again, now that they are aware of the issue. I am just going to sit on 4gb for a while and see what happens. I have the luxury of a 32gb SD card installed so it does not matter to me that much.

The solution works before Android 4.2 has no effect on Android 4.2 so we need testers to fix it.

This is the ROM with patch used before Android 4.2, you can find the Google Apps from My Android 4.2 thread.

https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&confirm=no_antivirus&id=0B0rD7FYbKaR3Mk54RDJQQWN1TU0

Don't do factory reset or you will not able to get into system! After reboot into system you need to use adb to get some information:
1. adb shell ls -l /data/media/ > datamedia.txt
2. adb shell ls -l /sdcard/ > sdcard.txt
3. adb shell ls -l /mnt/shell/emulated/ > emulated.txt

By the way, I suggest you take your Xoom to Motorola Hong Kong to upgrade to official ICS when you have time. It will fix the partition problem forever so you will not need to wait developers to apply fix in ROMs in the future.

great to hear that there is a solution for that stupid problem
just having some research on the asia forum,
finally i got the alterative way besides going to the CS

flash the asia version MZ601 with the sbf image of euro version
image link here :sbf.droid-developers.org/everest/list.php
File:
151.2 MiB 36DFAAAE4D9C901112075D0748468D78 Retail Western Europe EVRSU_U5.I.7.1-45_SIGNED_UCAEVRSTURTCOREEU_P058_A021_M007_HWumts_everest_1FF.sbf.gz

then the storage will be reformat to 28gb
after that everything will back to it's normal track:victory:

haha, it works, just update the new 4.2.1 roms thought the normal process,
it remain the storage 28gb, problem solved

i will have a try on that and see it can fix the issue or not
Sounds good! If that helps we may not need the fix anymore since it allows only 4 GB space for installed apps.

Hong Kong Xoom

I tried to apply the partition fix and was a bit careless after flashing my Xoom at least 20 times. It is now a brick. RSDLite gave an error and now it is completely dead. No amount of holding down power or power plus vol up ( or any other combo) shows even a flicker. The battery is fully charged, the charge light is the only part still working. I tried all the urban myth fixes like holding down power for five minutes.

The only good thing is that I no longer have to continually fight a tablet with an odd partition layout. Motorola should be ashamed for creating this ridiculous situation in the first place. The only legitimate way to update a Hong Kong Xoom is to return it to Honk Kong for a reflash, otherwise it is stuck on 3.2 forever. Too bad for the thousands of people who have one who do not actually live in Hong Kong (or Taiwan) and purchased them on a holiday or via eBay. Thanks to the devs who found a workaround. I happily used EOS for a long time. Now it is time to cut my losses and move on. I might put it into Motorola service and see what they would charge me to revive it, but then maybe not. It is way out of warranty and has been flashed so many times the warranty would be useless anyway.

Luckily I have a Nexus 7 and it gets updates in a timely manor and I am not even a little tempted to root or flash it.

To anyone with a Hong Kong Xoom reading this, flash it if you want or be sensible and just wait for Team EOS to fix their fstab. It will not be long.

ps

I will get a T2 screwdriver and disconnect the battery for a hard reset. Can't hurt. I just have to find one.

Hi, nickylam123

I would like to know how did you use SBF to fix the partition problem since Grege50 seem to fail on the process.

One thing I did wrong was to use a standard USB cable, not a Motorola one. I had just forgotten that that was required as it had been a long time since I did the first rooted kernel. The first time I tried it failed and EOS 4 was still there, but I persevered. The second time I bricked it.

I now wonder if the European ROM is not really suitable or was it just because I was slack with the cable. If it would just flicker to fastboot I could use ADB.

I'm using the cable came with the moto Droid
Don't know if it is the cause of the problem

I just let the rsd to auto did all the process
After that flash the recovery, then rom again

i just pick any cable near me as the first day i started flashing my android devices,
i love to try anything new so i just root the xoom and my galaxy nexus at the first day i brought it,
